Trading calculators

Four tools for the arithmetic that comes up before and after a trade: what your cost basis became after adding, what a position actually returned, how many shares a stop allows, and what a single option is worth at expiry. They run in your browser, nothing is stored, and none of them ask for an account.

Stock average down calculator

Averaging down changes your cost basis, and the number that matters afterwards is not what you paid first. Enter each lot and this returns the blended average, which is the price the position has to clear before it is green.

Stock profit calculator

Gross profit is the easy number. This one takes fees out, shows the return on what you actually put at risk, and tells you the price the position needs just to get back to flat.

Position size calculator

Size is decided by the stop, not by how much you like the setup. Give this your account, the percentage you will risk, and the distance to your stop, and it returns the share count that keeps the loss where you said it would be.

Options profit calculator

Profit and loss at expiry for one leg, long or short. This prices the position at expiration only, so there is no time value left in it, which is the figure worth checking before you open rather than the one you watch while it runs.

Why these four

Each one answers a question that changes a decision rather than restating a number you already have. Between them they cover entry sizing, cost basis after adding, the result afterwards, and the one options payoff that is arithmetic rather than forecast.

What a calculator cannot do

It answers one trade at a time, from numbers you type in. The useful version is the same arithmetic run across every trade you have taken, from your broker's own fills, which is what TickerReplay is for.
